The inspiration for this design comes from the scene where the Yellow River meets the sky. The work integrates the gradient light and shadow of matte and glossy glazes, perfectly presenting the blurred boundary between water and clouds. Here, the Yellow River loses its shape. Turbid waves push and surge, pouring sandy-brown sediment into the low-hanging clouds until the water vapor and dust smoke can no longer be distinguished from each other. In the distance, a faint gray line undulates slightly—is it the waves climbing toward the sky, or the sky leaning down to sip the river water? Where the foam flies, the sky is dyed a murky earthy yellow, as if the Yellow River has reversed course into the nine heavens. A wavering gray line crosses the horizon—that is the final struggle between the waves and the clouds.
